Field CTO

About Me

I am from the Melbourne suburb of Dingley Village and have lived in Australia most of my life bar a 5 year working sojourn to the US, where I lived in Washington State. I graduated with a bachelor of computing (computer science) degree and have been working in the industry ever since.

I have been married for 23 years and we have 2 beautiful British bulldogs named Harry and Sally. They are cousins and Sally is deaf so we talk to her in bulldog sign language that we created for her. My wife and I are gamers and spend much of our spare time playing games on PC or renovating our house and garden.

My Role at PTP

I’m PTP’s Field CTO (Chief Technology Officer). A traditional CTO is inwards focused- typically focusing on technology trends and applying these to the business. A Field CTO is customer (outward) focused. As such I collaborate with our customers, understanding their strategic goals designing solutions and supporting our consultants as they deliver these solutions. It is a fantastic role that enables me to use my technical expertise alongside my strategic and tactical mindset.

My Experience before PTP

My recent roles have included being a Customer Solution Architect for a testing consultancy and Global Practice Lead for Artificial Intelligence testing. I’ve also held experience as a Continuous Delivery Architect, full stack web developer, Test Automation lead for a large multinational among other technical and non-technical leadership roles. I’ve spoken at conferences in AI and Testing and trained graduates to prepare them for consulting. I also coach staff to enable them to grow and be resilient. I gravitate and thrive in roles that let me help people, especially navigating technology to output their best.

My perfect day away from the office

My perfect day away from the office involves sleeping in, walking Harry and Sally at the dog park, playing PC games with my wife and working on our house. I love shopping, especially shoes, bags, jackets, hats and computer parts. It’s my wife’s nightmare scenario to come home from work and find shoe boxes on the kitchen table!
