My Experience Before PTP

Prior to commencing an exciting portfolio career around non-exec and advisory Board roles, I established the Digital Transformation practice across Australia and New Zealand for DXC, leveraging my previous experience of heading up the Consulting practice with a hunger for helping businesses adapt to the rapid uptake of digital technology within their core operations. I have experience as a CEO in multi-nationals, ASX-listed companies, private businesses and start-ups, giving me a hands-on understanding of the various stages of growth along with co-worker and customer relationships that have lasted many years.  I still take great pride seeing someone who worked for me 20-30 years ago being successful in their chosen field or life journey and being able to call them a friend.

About Me

I am nervous to say I could be classified as an  ‘industry veteran’, having attained a Degree in Electronic Data Processing in the late-seventies, however, I have always prided myself on staying current with technology as it has evolved over the years.  More importantly I have always sought to understand the impact of technology on business strategy and operations, and being an effective translator of tech-hype into pragmatic industry based solutions.  Today, I thrive on providing advice to businesses around the two G’s, Growth and Governance, each in measured amounts that are able to be absorbed without stifling innovation or allowing uncontrolled expansion.

My Role at PTP

I provide advice to the Founders and the team related to creating and executing their strategy across the four key dimensions of a Services business, People, Offerings, Clients and Operations, when these work and evolve in harmony you have a business that has motivated consultants working on critical services in grateful customers in a highly efficient manner.  I am proud to be associated with PTP and enjoy introducing my industry network of past colleagues, clients and partners to each other to create something special.

My perfect day away from the office

My perfect day is exhausting and exhilarating in equal measures and believe it or not I have lived it quite a few times. Up early and a walk on the beach with my wife of 40 years and our beloved golden retriever returning via our favourite coffee shop for a strong latte and apple scroll to start the day on the right caffeine note.  Pack the golf clubs and off for 18 holes with my son at the best golf complex in Australia, The National, and for it to be perfect, I have scored more pars than bogeys, the wind has been kind and the sun has been shining.  A quick lunch with mates and off to the MCG to watch my mighty Cats win with the whole family decked out in blue and white cheering together.  I get home, smiling already, to find my beautiful grand-children ready for a play and a book, before sitting down to the perfect meal of a rib-eye steak and a glass of aged shiraz, again with the family.  As my wife and I slide into bed tired but happy, we say to each other ‘how lucky are we’.
